GRAND TOUR
Length: 29,9 km
Directionality: anello
Travel mode: on foot, bike, horse
Total ascent: 1380 m

Description: The Grand Tour route is a large hiking ring that covers almost the entire territory of the Municipality of Talla, touching some of the most evocative places from a historical, cultural and environmental point of view that are present there and, for almost all (about 95%), it has a natural base. It starts and returns from the central square of Talla (Piazza Licio Nencetti), approximately 30 km long, and is a challenging route for medium-experienced hikers. If desired, there are numerous possibilities to shorten it and make small loops thanks to the possibility of using the other marked routes of the Vie della Transumanza project (such as the Via dei Ponti Antichi and the Talla - Badia Santa Trinita in Alpe route). In the autumn-winter period or after heavy rains, you need to pay attention to some sections that present mud problems (see the ridge near Poggio Baselica). The route can be done entirely with MTB (expert level bikers) and on horseback (experienced riders). For bikers and horseback riders, pay attention to the route that descends from Faltona towards Talla and along the narrow path that goes uphill from Badia Santa Trinita to Poggio alla Forca (horses and bikes in hand are recommended). In Piazza Licio Nencetti near the fountain there is an e-bike charging area.

What can be seen:
the village of Talla (with a small excursion also to Castellaccia to see the birthplace of Guido Monaco), the village of Bicciano, the views of the Arezzo plain from the ridge in the locality. Spedale, the splendid and ancient Badia di Santa Trinita in Alpe, the villages of Castelnuovo and Faltona, the ancient medieval pavement near the remains of the imposing Ponte di Annibale.
